Flax fiber and oilseed use is increasing, and flax fits well as a winter crop into double-cropping systems in the southeastern U.S. Flax can be harvested as an early crop for fiber or late for both seed and fiber production. Flax can be grown and harvested for fiber using equipment that is readily available and well-understood by U.S. farmers.
