September 2009

Research
The objectives were: chemically characterize turkey manure ash (TMA); evaluate its effectiveness to supply essential nutrients for crop production; measure plant uptake of essential and non-essential elements; and determine the effects of TMA on nutrient and trace element concentrations in soil. In this study, corn and soybean were the test crops because they are potential crops that would be fertilized with TMA in Minnesota.
