Summary: The U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol is a voluntary farm-level program designed to engage growers in continuous improvement. The program is being launched with the purpose of meeting the sustainability needs of the textile supply chain. While keeping individual producer information strictly confidential, the program will provide aggregate data to the textile supply chain which includes: producers, merchandisers, manufacturers, brands and retailers and others. The pilot phase is currently underway with approximately 200 producers enrolled. The primary purpose of this presentation is to inform producers about the requirements for participation, which include completion of a self-assessment questionnaire, use of a data tool for environmental metrics, and potential verification by an independent party.
