Summary: This presentation will help consultants, growers, and other practitioners in the north central region understand current options for management of larval western corn rootworms. Since the introduction of Bt corn hybrids active against rootworm, larval control options, and grower practices for rootworm management have changed. With the recent detection of western corn rootworm populations which have resistance to current Bt hybrids, there is great interest in understanding all options for larval rootworm management. This presentation will review larval rootworm biology and damage, larval control options, and factors affecting their efficacy.
