This presentation presents the first known data on yield loss attributable to fall armyworm when the pest moves to the lower 2/3 of a corn ear, as is typical in the damage cycle. The presentation presents the infestation timeline, kernels destroyed, yield lost to both the insect and the fungi it introduces, and the affect of fall armyworm on fumonisin levels. Preliminary economic injury levels are presented although final levels will be produced after the conclusion of the 2013 repeat of these experiments.
