Summary: This presentation will help consultants, county agents, growers, and other practitioners in the Southern U.S. cotton-producing states to understand more about using sensors for on-the-go variable rate application. Specifically in this presentation, practitioners will learn: the differences between map and sensor based VRA; equipment limitations for VRA; developing prescriptions for sensor based VRA; and adjusting rate controllers for use with sensor systems. By the end of this presentation, the practitioner should know more about the challenges and opportunities for sensor based VRA in cotton production.
