Fig. 3B. Prohexadione-calcium can suppress the shoot blight phase of fire blight (Fig. 3A) by slowing vegetative growth of apple trees. When shoot blight is not controlled, fire blight may spread to rootstocks (Fig. 3B, shown here) and cause extensive losses in young orchards (Fig. 3C). Each conduit pole in the orchard supported a 4-yr-old Gala apple tree that was killed by fire blight.
