Research
Producers typically consider yield, CP, and TDN when choosing a summer perennial forage species or variety to plant. Management considerations include whether increasing N rate correspondingly increases CP and TDN within varieties and whether differences in CP and TDN occur between varieties fertilized at a given N rate. The objectives of this study were to determine if CP and TDN for each variety are affected by N rate, and to determine if differences in CP and TDN exist between varieties at a given N rate. Yield information from this test was published previously.
