Efficacy of Foliar Applications of Particle Films and Genotype for Managing Thrips, Diseases, and Aflatoxin in Peanut

J. P. Wilson, C. C. Holbrook, B. Mandal, D. L. Rowland, M. L. Wells, and D. M. Wilson

April 2004

This study examined the usefulness of the kaolin-based particle film Surround against peanut production constraints, including tomato spotted wilt, leaf spots, and aflatoxin contamination. Host genotype effects were found to be more effective than Surround in reducing disease and increasing yield protection. Particle films may be useful for certain vegetables and fruits, but their benefits in peanut production are limited.
