Research

Hop powdery mildew, caused by Sphaerotheca macularis, has become the most serious disease of hop (Humulus lupus) in the Pacific Northwest. These results suggest that control measures early in the growing season are most important in shaping the epidemic in a particular field and that late season control measures may not need to be applied at the same intensity as in early to mid-season.
