T. E. Seijo, D. Czarnecki, Z. Deng, and N. A. Peres

December 2006

Leavenworth’s tickseed (Coreopsis leavenworthii) is a native wildflower throughout Florida, and is grown commercially primarily for seed. In 2005, powdery mildew was observed on greenhouse-grown C. leavenworthii. The pathogen was identified as Golovinomyces cichorearum. This is the first report of G. cichoracearum infecting C. leavenworthii and the first report of it infecting any Coreopsis spp. in Florida.
