On-Farm Trial Assessing Efficacy of Three Insecticide Classes for Management of Stink Bug and Fruit Damage on Processing Tomatoes

E. M. Cullen and F. G. Zalom

March 2007

Five foliar insecticides representing a neonicotinoid, a pyrethroid, a neonicotinoid plus pyrethroid, and two organophosphates were evaluated for relative efficacy in managing consperse stink bug on California processing tomatoes. Efficacy evaluation is discussed within the context of continued research to provide IPM-compatible insecticide options to growers facing low processor tolerance for stink bug damaged fruit, and organophosphate insecticide restrictions in tomato canning contracts.
