Curfew Soil Fumigant Now Available for Use in Texas, Louisiana

Dow AgroSciences.

Indianapolis, IN (May 24, 2006) – Curfew® soil fumigant, a nematicide manufactured by Dow AgroSciences, has been granted a 24(c) label from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency making it available for use on golf course fairways, tees and putting greens as well as on athletic fields throughout Texas and Louisiana. In addition, Curfew is also labeled for use in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Curfew offers improved rooting and provides effective control of parasitic nematodes -- microscopic organisms that feed on and damage turfgrass roots. Curfew also controls mole crickets and Japanese beetle grubs present at time of application. With improved rooting, turf is more drought and stress tolerant. Most warm-season turfgrass and creeping bentgrass are tolerant to Curfew.

"Nematodes inflict highly visible damage to turfgrass in sandy soil environments," says Dennis Lane, Dow AgroSciences product manager. "Golf course superintendents in Florida and other states have successfully used Curfew for years. We're confident their counterparts in Texas and Louisiana will experience similar results."

Curfew dissipates rapidly and can only be injected by certified applicators.
