Greensboro, NC (May 30, 2006) – Instrata™ fungicide from Syngenta Professional Products, which provides golf-course superintendents with new game-changing control of snow mold, recently received registration from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Instrata combines the active ingredients chlorothalonil, fludioxonil, and propiconazole in a proprietary formulation created by Syngenta. The combination of active ingredients, and their multiple modes of action, enables Instrata to control all of the numerous pathogens that cause snow mold throughout the period of winter snow-cover. In addition, Instrata controls a broad spectrum of additional turf diseases, including anthracnose, dollar spot, brown patch and summer patch year-round.

“Instrata is an important addition to the Syngenta family of fungicide products,” said Joe DiPaola, Ph.D., golf market manager for Syngenta Professional Products. “Snow mold is a particularly damaging and insidious turf disease, and Instrata offers control of all of its various forms throughout the long winter, when superintendents are powerless to identify or treat the disease beneath the snow-cover.”

Dave Ross, Ph.D., technical manager for Syngenta Professional Products, adds, “In research trials, Instrata has consistently provided superior snow mold control across the northern tier of the United States and Canada, and in doing so, has outperformed the traditional industry standards and tank-mixes.

“Instrata demonstrates the ability and willingness of Syngenta to invest in creating new products to meet the ever-changing needs of modern golf-course management.”

Instrata will be available this summer in a 2.5-gallon container from Authorized Syngenta Channel Partners. Members of the GreenPartners® loyalty program will receive points for qualified Instrata purchases.
