Posted 17 March 2008. Applied Turfgrass Science. Guaranteed Crabgrass Control and Fewer Callbacks Syngenta Professional Products. Greensboro, North Carolina (March 10, 2008)--Syngenta Professional Products recently announced that Barricade pre-emergence herbicide is again backed by a guarantee that the product will prevent crabgrass all summer long, if applied as directed in the spring. To register online for the program, lawn care operators can go to www.BarricadeGuarantee.com, or call 1-800-Barricade. The registration period runs through April 15, 2008. All program details are available on the Web site, including prescribed rates and application dates for each region of the U.S. “We feel so strongly that Barricade will prevent crabgrass this summer that, if it doesn’t, Syngenta will pay for up to $80 worth of post-emergent materials per acre,” said Bob Goglia, lawn market manager for Syngenta Professional Products. “Having confidence that their choice of pre-emergence herbicide will block weeds not only gives lawn care operators peace of mind, it could save them considerable time and money related callbacks. We believe that the Barricade Guarantee Program™ is another way Syngenta gives lawn care operators an added layer of confidence in their herbicide purchase.” Details of the Barricade Guarantee Program include: • Customers who purchase $5,000 or more of any combination of Barricade flowable, Barricade 65WG water-dispersible granule formulation, or Barricade on-fertilizer from Authorized Syngenta Channel Partners qualify for the guarantee program. • In addition to a minimum $5,000 purchase of the Barricade products, lawn care operators must apply it at the proper rate, conditions, application date and timing to qualify for the program. • In the unlikely event of crabgrass breakthrough, submit a claim by August 1, 2008. Syngenta will verify purchase levels and a Syngenta territory manager will work with you to determine eligibility for reimbursement. Market-leading Barricade is the only herbicide formulated to give lawn care operators the long residual and performance they need to keep crabgrass and other weeds at bay for their customers. It offers the widest possible window for keeping turf weed-free, allowing for applications as early as January in some areas – and a single application lasts an entire season. Additionally, Barricade’s low solubility and volatility means it will stay put in the weed germination zone and won’t break down. Other features and benefits are that Barricade: • Provides low-rate, season-long control of more than 30 grassy and broadleaf weeds, including crabgrass, goosegrass, and Poa Annua • Allows for applications as early as January that last an entire season • Offers dial-in rates for cost efficiency, especially in northern regions • Won’t stain shoes, fences or other landscape As with all herbicides, it is important to read and follow label instructions when using Barricade. |
