Iowa Seed Directory Offers Quality Seed Options for Spring Iowa State University. www.cai.iastate.edu Ames, Iowa (October 16, 2006)- Are you looking for quality seed to plant in 2007? The Iowa Crop Improvement Association (ICIA) recently published the Iowa Seed Directory as a resource for finding quality seeds of soybeans, oats, triticale, wheat and native prairie species.
The Iowa Seed Directory contains seed production information from more than 100 producers and conditioners. The listing is composed of ICIA members who range from farmer-owned seed enterprises to multi-national companies. The directory lists fields that were inspected for genetic identity and purity during the 2006 season. The association encourages consumers to request analysis information when making a seed purchase. Customers can obtain documentation of seed germination, purity and presence of weed species.
