Posted 12 March 2007. Crop Management. Web Seminar Set on Variable-Rate Fertilizer Application North Dakota State University. www.ndsu.nodak.edu North Dakota State University (March 2, 2007)--A Web seminar on variable-rate fertilizer application is scheduled for March 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. CDT. The North Dakota State University Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department will conduct the seminar.
NDSU Extension Service specialists and industry representatives will discuss the equipment and electronic requirements needed to apply variable rates of anhydrous ammonia and liquid and dry fertilizer while seeding small grains. Participants can expect to learn how to apply variable rates of fertilizer during their small-grain planting. The seminar agenda is available at www.ag.ndsu.nodak.edu/abeng/upcoming.htm. The Web conferencing software, WebEx, will be used by all participants in the seminar. WebEx is an interactive conferencing program allowing all participants to interact with each presenter, as well as with each other. Each participant needs a computer equipped with a microphone, speakers and an Internet connection. All participants will be able to hear and speak to the others, watch videos and view other software applications. The moderator controls who can share applications or video, so any participant can be a presenter. The seminar is free and open to the public, but preregistration is required. To register for the seminar, contact Lori Sholts at (701) 231-7261 or lori.sholts@ndsu.edu. At the time of preregistration, participants will be asked to join a brief Web practice meeting to make sure their computer equipment functions properly. Registrants whose computers function correctly can expect the preregistration process to be completed in five minutes. Additional dates will be scheduled if there are more people interested in participating than can be accommodated in one seminar. Contact: |
