Description of the Job

Job Title: Agronomist

Company: Black Gold Farms

Location: Columbia, North Carolina

Job Description: The Agronomist position assists in raising high quality, profitable potatoes through data collection, scouting, timely reporting and tissue collection. Additional responsibilities of the Agronomist include:

1. Monitoring potato plant growth and documenting the growth stages.

2. Identify potato insects, diseases and weeds.

3. Monitor seed cutting and seed placement during planting.

4. Assist with irrigation management by monitoring soil moisture levels.

5. Coordinate the execution and research of small plot and large field trials.

6. Assist with all other agronomic duties, including corn and soybean crops .

Qualifications: Applicants should have computer experience, an ability to work independently and an agronomic background, including scouting experience. A Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent experience is desired. Potato experience is not required.
