Acephate 97UPô Approved for Broad-spectrum Insect Control

United Phosphorus, Inc.

Trenton, NJ (May 1, 2003) - US growers can benefit from a new broad-spectrum insecticide that has been formulated and packaged for economic value. Acephate 97UP, a water dispersible premium acephate formulation, has been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for use on tobacco, vegetables, cotton, peanuts, nursery, ornamentals, turf and other non-crop areas.

The low-odor, low-dust, water dispersible insecticide has been specifically formulated to deliver effective control against a wide range of insects. The insecticide offers the advantages of a single label and more convenience, according to Acephate 97UP manufacturer United Phosphorus Inc. (UPI) officials.

"Our primary objective is to give growers premium post-patent chemistry at an economic value," Jeffrey Pritchard, Vice President and General Manager of UPI explains. "We are excited to offer Acephate 97UP as an important addition to our product portfolio. Acephate 97UP is packaged in a one-pound container and ten-pound bags to offer a better fit for the actual use on labeled crops. Plus, thereís only one label for crops, nursery, turf, and ornamentals, so diversified growers need fewer containers to get the job done."
