Greensboro, NC (July 10, 2006) – Syngenta is pleased to announce that Hurricane™ fungicide recently was registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Hurricane gives ornamental growers a single, worry-free solution for optimal, lasting, and cost-effective control of all major root-rot diseases.
Hurricane contains the active ingredients fludioxonil and mefenoxam. Combined, the systemic properties of mefenoxam and the unique contact protection of fludioxonil allow Hurricane to provide optimal control of Pythium, Phytophthora, Rhizoctonia, and other diseases. When tank-mixed with Medallion® fungicide also from Syngenta, Thielaviopsis, Cylindrocladium, and Sclerotium rolfsii can also be controlled.
Hurricane reduces the need to tank-mix several products, and eliminates the difficult guesswork often associated with diagnosis of root-rot diseases. It also offers a long residual for cost-effective protection.
“Hurricane is a powerful tool for controlling root-rot disease and cultivating strong, beautiful plants that thrive in today’s intense retail climate,” said Chuck Buffington, lawn and garden business strategy manager for Syngenta Professional Products. “It is just the latest example of how Syngenta is in touch with the needs of modern ornamental growers and is willing to invest in new products that meet those needs.”
Hurricane is available in a 12-ounce bag of eight 1.5-ounce water-soluble packets. Growers enrolled in GreenPartners®, the flexible loyalty program that rewards customers for their Syngenta turf and ornamental product purchases, will receive points for Hurricane purchases. To learn more about the GreenPartners program, call the GreenPartners information line at 1-800-847-3592, visit www.greenpartners.com, or contact your local Syngenta turf and ornamental sales representative.
