Greensboro, North Carolina (February 17, 2011)--Syngenta Crop Protection recently received approval of Agri-Mek® SC miticide/insecticide from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Agri-Mek SC is labeled for use on a variety of TNV, vegetable and citrus crops, among others. State registrations, specific crop and/or pest uses may still be pending in certain states. Check with your state regulatory agency to determine registration status.

Agri-Mek SC, a Group 6 insecticide, provides a modern, water-based formulation with low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. Produced with advanced manufacturing technology, Agri-Mek SC ensures the premium performance and crop safety growers have come to expect from the Syngenta brand.

“Agri-Mek SC is the first abamectin product of its kind,” said Lisa Moricle, insecticide brand manager, Syngenta. “The low VOC Agri-Mek SC formulation maximizes penetration to ensure performance by creating a reservoir of the active ingredient within the plant leaf for extended control, while ensuring plant safety and minimizing environmental impact from VOCs.”

Agri-Mek SC offers the convenience of flexible timing and application methods when pests are the greatest threat. Additionally, the modern, concentrated, aqueous-based formulation significantly reduces VOC emissions and container handling, storage and disposal.

Agri-Mek SC is the improved standard for mite and insect control with the same efficacy as Agri-Mek 0.15 EC. Compared to its predecessor, Agri-Mek 0.15 EC, Agri-Mek SC has lower use rate and initially will have the same crop use, with the exception of strawberries and cotton, which are pending. Agri-Mek SC will require use of an adjuvant with all applications.
