Reinach, Switzerland (April 15, 2011)--BIOREBA AG, a leading company in plant disease diagnostics since 1980, announces the launch of their AgriStrip for Impatiens necrotic spot virus (INSV).

The field test INSV AgriStrip enables the rapid detection of the pathogen. It’s ease of use and speed allows growers and field inspectors the immediate implementation of sanitary measures on-site.

Impatiens necrotic spot virus has been widespread and devastating in greenhouse industries. INSV is transmitted by thrips and infects predominantly ornamentals such as begonia, carnation, chrysanthemum, dahlia, geranium, gladiolus, impatiens, narcissus, orchids, petunia, etc. INSV causes a wide variety of symptoms including wilting, stem death, stunting etc.

This new rapid one-step assay is an important extension to the already existing range of AgriStrip products.
