Walnut Creek, California (February 21, 2012)--METLOCKô Fungicide, recently offered as a powerful component in several seed protection systems from Valent U.S.A. Corporation, is now available as a single offering for corn, cotton and cereal crops in 2012.

METLOCK has quickly proven itself among sugar beet and cereal seed treaters and growers for the exceptional protection it provides against Rhizoctonia damping-off, Fusarium seed/seedling dieback and seed decay fungi. Valent Brand Manager Marty Robinson said this newly available product provides contact and super-systemic protection against early season crop disease. In addition, its ultra-low use rate makes it an ideal, easy-to-use component for the seed processor.

"For several seasons, we've seen excellent results with METLOCK against the yield-robbing diseases which hit the seed hard early in the year," Robinson said. "By providing METLOCK as a single product offer to be used with other seed protection components, treaters will be able to use METLOCK to fit their specific seed protection programs. Valent is pleased to offer growers and seed processors another excellent seed protection option."

This introduction of METLOCK marks the first seed-applied fungicide registered directly by Valent. Robinson noted the launch of METLOCK is the next step in what has become a quickly growing seed treatment portfolio and strategy for Valent, as several more highly effective active ingredients and formulations are currently under development.
