Provides excellent efficacy against broad spectrum of diseases

Walnut Creek, California (March 14, 2012)--Valent U.S.A. Corporation announced that Quash® Fungicide has been registered by the Environmental Protection Agency for use on blueberries.

Quash is a highly effective, broad spectrum triazole fungicide containing metconazole, and its registration provides blueberry growers with an important new tool for disease control.

“Quash provides exceptional control of a broad spectrum of foliar diseases,” said Gerald Holmes, product development manager for Valent. “Growers can expect Quash to deliver superior protection against important fungal diseases, including mummy berry, Alternaria leaf spot and fruit rot, anthracnose fruit rot, and Phomopsis diseases such as leaf spot, twig blight and fruit rot.”

Quash can be applied to blueberries by either aerial or ground application. The 7-day pre-harvest interval for Quash is shorter than that of many competing products, and Quash can be used to help keep leaves on the shrubs and protect plants from post-harvest foliar diseases.

The Quash registration includes use on all bush-grown small fruits as defined by EPA Crop Subgroup 13.07-B (Bushberries).
