This presentation, titled Preserving Soybean Seed Quality, by Dr. John Rupe at the University of Arkansas, will help consultants, growers, and other practitioners in the North-Central, and Southern U.S. understand and manage soybean seed quality. This presentation describes the differences between seed germination and seed vigor and how seed vigor is measured. Rupe also covers the major abiotic and biotic factors that affect soybean seed quality, general methods to preserve seed quality, and tips for growers buying seed. This talk is available in executive summary and full-length versions in Focus on Soybean.

Latest Focus on Corn Webcast Covers Ear, Kernel Mold Management

Soybean Seeding

This talk, titled “Ear and Kernel Mold Biology and Management” and authored by Dr. Charles Woloshuk at Purdue University, covers the important ear rot diseases of corn, the relationship between ear rot diseases and mycotoxin contamination, the basic principles ear rot disease management, and proper grain storage to reduce the risk of spoilage. View this and other presentations in Focus on Corn.

Focus on Potato Takes on Insecticide Resistance

Soybean Seeding

This latest presentation from Dr. Russ Groves at the University of Wisconsin covers Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM). It includes a case study on Colorado Potato Beetle (CPB) to demonstrate pests’ increasing resistance of insect pests to insecticides, including the neonicotinoid class of insecticides in the case of CPB.
