PMN Launches Bouyoucos Conference Turfgrass Proceedings
PMN has just launched the proceedings of The Bouyoucos Conference on the Advances in Research on Soil Biological, Chemical, and Physical Properties for Sustainable Constructed Rootzones, which took place in May 2012 in Philadelphia. This collection of 26 abstracts from 41 basic and applied researchers covers a range of topics, from Mimicking a Soil in a Soilless Medium through the Development of Turfgrass Management Systems for Green Roof-type Applications. Learn Developments of Metam Sodium Labeling Through Focus on Potato
For decades, growers of high value crops have relied heavily upon metam sodium and metam potassium products to control weeds, disease and nematodes. However, label changes for metam sodium are underway in order to comply with newer EPA registration eligibility standards. In this talk, titled Metam Sodium: Implementation of Phase II Labeling, Dr. Kyle Coleman from TKI NovaSource, discusses the Phase II changes that took place in December of 2012.
Charcoal Rot Management Discussed in New Focus on Soybean Webcast
Based on the most recent estimates, charcoal rot is the sixth most serious disease of soybeans in the United States, but its rank increases in years of extensive drought such as in 2012. This presentation by Doug Jardine, Professor of Plant Pathology at Kansas State University, emphasizes both recognition of charcoal rot symptoms and practical management practices of this economically important disease.
Focus on Corn Webcast Promotes Early-Season Weed Management Strategies
This presentation, titled The Importance of Early Season Weed Management in Corn by Dr. Mark Loux, professor and weed specialist at The Ohio State University, will help consultants, growers, and other practitioners in the North-Central, and Southern U.S. develop early-season corn herbicide management strategies that ensure effective weed control and maximum yield.
Focus on Tomato Webcast Highlights California Production Practices
This presentation, titled Processing Tomato Production: California Practices by Gene Miyao, Cooperative Extension Farm Advisor at the University of California-Davis, will inform consultants, growers and other practitioners of the general production practices of California processing tomato growers. The information will help with familiarity and with understanding of the overall cultural practices as a backdrop.
