New Educational Webcasts Announced
Fusarium Dry Rot of Potatoes
This webcast will help consultants, growers,
practitioners, and allied industries in all
regions that grow and store potatoes
understand this common and widespread
disease. The presentation explains the cause
and disease cycle, defines the factors
leading to disease, and presents harvest and
storage management practices that will
reduce losses due to dry rot. This talk,
by Gary Secor,
North Dakota State University, can be found
in the
PMN Education Center.
Tips for Profitable Soybean Variety
Selection
Variety selection is one of the most
important decisions a producer makes and
should be based on properly conducted
variety trials. This webcast describes four
types of trials. All have their advantages.
The presentation teaches to never use
single-location, single-year data. Instead,
use multi-location multi-year averages. This
criterion normally results in choosing
high-yielding varieties. Virginia Tech’s
David Holshouser’s webcast is the 25th
in PMN’s popular
Focus on Soybean commodity series.
