Dedicated to providing up-to-date science-based management recommendations, the Plant Health Initiative
is the soybean grower’s and agronomist’s best information source for reducing yield loss from diseases and insects. The
Plant Health Initiative Web site www.planthealth.info contains management recommendations for viruses, sudden death
syndrome, Phytophthora root rot, SCN, iron deficiency chlorosis, and soybean rust. Insects such as the bean leaf beetle
and Chinese aphid are also discussed. This initiative is a partnership among the North Central Soybean Research Program,
Monsanto Company, Pioneer a DuPont company, Stine Seed Company and 13 Midwest Universities. The North Central Soybean
Research Program pools funding from 12 state soybean checkoff boards to find real solutions to regional production problems.
